Fairy Tail anime to continue

Hiro Mashima himself has said it earlier on: the production of Fairy Tail anime does not end on episode 175. [source 1, source 2] 

A few months afterwards, here's a bit of news! It's not yet detailed, but on the pages of the latest Fairy Tail  manga, Mashima noted: "TV ANIME PROJECT, RESTART!"

Even though there's no details yet, Mashima has since March been telling us to "wait for some good news" and a few days ago has been telling fans that "There will be good news on July 4" which was later moved to July 11. If that isn't confirmation enough to you, I don't know what else to say.

Fairy Tail Episode 175 featured "Natsu vs the Two Dragons" from manga Chapter 296. If the supposed anime continuation picks up directly from the manga (as opposed to inserting a filler arc/episode), the anime will soon delve deeper into the Eclipse project and the forces behind it.

We still await further news on this topic. Hopefully it will be sooner than later.

Ursula on Art and Inspiration

Meet Ursula, a young artist who lives (for the summer) in a cabin in the middle of a forest. Kiki, the young witch heroine of Hayao Miyazaki's Kiki's Delivery Service meets Ursula while looking for a lost stuffed kitten she was supposed to deliver for a client. Ursula returns and helps fix the poor stuffed kitten, and the two became fast friends. She comes to Kiki's aid once again when the young witch suddenly lost her ability to fly. Here's the transcript of their conversation:

URSULA: I decided to become an artist when I was about your age. I liked to draw so much, I almost hated to go to bed. And then one day, all of a sudden, I couldn't  draw anything. Everything I drew, I didn't like.
KIKI: Hm...
URSULA: I realized that my art up to then was a copy of someone else, things I had seen somewhere. I decided I had to discover my own style.
KIKI: Was it difficult?
URSULA: It's still difficult. But then, the results...They seem to be a little better than before.
...

URSULA: It's nice to be a witch, isn't it? I like the idea-- to be a witch, to be an artist, to be a baker...It's an
energy bestowed by the gods or someone, right? Though  thanks to it, we do have to suffer at times...
KIKI: I never even thought about my magic powers. I used to think this training was just an old-fashioned
custom...I was so happy you came today. If I were alone, I'd just be running around in circles.
URSULA: You know, to tell you the truth, I thought about destroying this painting many times.
KIKI: Even though it's so beautiful?
URSULA: When I met you today, and saw your distressed face,  I thought, 'That's it', and I was inspired.
KIKI: Tease!
URSULA: (laughs) Now we're even....

Manila International Bookfair 2013 schedule

 

The Manila International Bookfair (MIBF) will be held on Sept. 11-15, 2013 at SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia.

Best of Anime 2013 schedule

Best of Anime 2013 will be held on September 14 and 15 at the SMX Convention Center. The  event is organized by Primetrade Asia, Inc. It is held in conjunction with the Manila International Book Fair. This event had its debut last September 19, 2010 at Function Room 5 of the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex,Pasay City, Philippines. On our second year, the Best of Anime got bigger and better occupying two halls of SMX. And would continue to bring our audience an "animazing" experience each year.

Friday Eiga Night: WANKO - The Story of Me, My Family and My Dog

Cosplay Mania 2013 Event Schedule and Tickets Available!

Hey guys. Here's a head's up: Cosplay Mania '13 tickets will be available starting today. Tickets will still be sold on the event days but if you want to avoid long queues, you can buy your tickets at any SM Cinema branch near you! Just look for the SM Tickets booth.

Cosplay Mania 2013 will be held on October 5 - 6, 2013, at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia. This will be the 13th Cosplay Mania since 2000, and it's getting bigger every year.

Like last year, there will be two tickets to choose from. Hall Access tickets costs Php150, but if you wish to have access to the Stage where most of the major activities will be held, I suggest you buy the Full Access ticket which costs Php250. Note for the budget conscious: In Cosmania`11, I bought the hall pass for the first day, and even though it's not full access, I enjoyed the day greatly. There's a mini stage where games are held and when it's free, it's where cosplayers do their photoshoot, so I got pictures of cosplayers "on stage" ;). On the second day I had the Full Access ticket and I could say the additional fee was worth it.

As of posting, guest cosplayers have not yet been announced, but last year international cosplayers Kaname, Reika and Jesuke graced the event.
